Days 201 - Good day today

I had a pretty good day today with decent meals and good portion sizes. I did have a dessert with dinner tonight, but there was no snacking tonight, so I'll consider today a victory :-)

Here's how today broke down:

Days 200 - Snacked tonight... sigh

Today went alright throughout the day, however, I did snack a bit tonight. There were some chips out and about this evening and I faltered. And unfortunately, after I start digging in I seem to just throw caution to the wind and dive right in. So I'm sure I had way too many calories.

Days 199 - Good for half the day

I had a good day going today until dinner time. My father was in town, so we went out to eat at a local Mexican restaurant. My choices weren't the greatest at dinner. And of course, we all know what portion sizes look like at restaurants. I don't even want to know how many calories were in that meal. Tomorrow's a new day, so hopefully I'll be able to do good all day long.

Days 198 - Darn those portion sizes

Today was a pretty good day, with the exception of eating too much at dinner tonight. I've got to remember to keep a close eye on those portion sizes as I ate a bit too much at dinner tonight. Other than that, it was a pretty good start to the week.

Week 29 weigh in

Well, last week was a bit rough. There were definitely some ups and downs throughout the week. I was glad to see a bit of a loss on the scale this morning. I'm down to 258.2, which is a loss of 1.6 pounds. Definitely not a great week, but after my struggles last week, I'll gladly take the loss.

Days 197 - Pretty good day today

My food today wasn't the greatest, but it wasn't bad. I did have dessert at lunch and pizza for dinner, but I also spent a few hours in the yard today doing some yard work. So again I have a tradeoff. Just OK in the food department, but I did get some exercise in, so I guess to day another OK day.

- Instant Oatmeal
- Begal with cream cheese

- Grilled cheese sandwich (X2)

- A few hours of yard work

Days 196 - Some good, some bad

Today wasn't a fabulous day in the food department. I did have a few sweets today and a dessert at lunch. However, I also got out for a few hours of hunting this morning. So a couple of hours walking in the woods was a little bit of exercise. So, got some exercise and had some sweets... guess that balances out to make today just an OK day.

Days 194 - I made it a great day :-)

Finally... I had a good day. It's been a bit of a rough week, but I did good today. Had some good food and was able to avoid the junk food all day. I've really got to say thanks to my readers. Several times today I was tempted to pickup a donut or reach for a dessert, but I knew you guys were hoping for me to have a great day today. That motivation got me through the day and allowed me to post some positive news tonight... so thank you for that. Here's hoping for another good day tomorrow and perhaps I can still pull off a bit of a loss this week. We'll see...

Day 193 - Happy birthday... sort of

Well, my readers aren't going to be too happy with me today. I don't even want to post what was eaten today... let's just say South Beach Steve wouldn't be too happy about it. Alright, alright... it included a pizza, cake and some junk food. In my defense, it was my birthday today and I figured I could go a little crazy. Unfortunately, there's been more crazy than sane the last little while, which has got to turn around soon. Well, tomorrow's a new day and I plan on making it a great day. Wish me luck.

Oh, and TJ... I'm a big fan of the food network as well. Although I probably shouldn't be because I'm a sucker for all the awesome things the various food network chefs whip up. Fast forwarding the commercials does help as I'm also a sucker for advertisements, but watching the food network always makes we want to try new recipes, which are never very healthy (except Eat, Shrink & be Merry).

Days 192 - Wish I double didn't

Rought night tonight. With all the advertising that's been going on for the KFC double down coming to Canada, I just had to check it out. So I ended up having one for dinner and it was a huge dissappointment. It's not very tasty and it's difficult to eat. figured my meal was blown already, so I decided to have a dessert too. I got a pumpkin pie blizzard from DQ as I was told by a co-worker that it was his favorite blizzard. Again, that was a bust. I thought it tasted like cold pumpkin puree... not my idea of a good dessert. So... bottom line... I blew my diet and it was all for nothing... booooo.

Days 191 - Snacked tonight

I had a pretty good day food wise today... until tonight that is. I ended up snacking quite a bit tonight. I got into the chips and ended up eating a whole bag. I really have a hard time avoiding snack foods when they're in the house. I just can't keep my mind off them until they're gone. I guess the trick is to just not have them in the house.

Week 28 weigh in

Even after a rough weekend, I managed a loss last week. The scale read 259.8 this morning, which is a loss of 1.4 pounds. Not a great loss, but I'm headed in the right direction again, so I can't complain to much. Here's hoping for back to back losing weeks.

Days 189 & 190 - Rough weekend

No doubt about it, I had a rough weekend in the weight loss department. We had a party on Saturday, which involved a lot of food and significant alcohol calories. And of course today there were lots of leftovers to be eaten up. I'm hoping that the weigh-in tomorrow morning isn't too bad as I did pretty good throughout the week last week. We'll see what the scale has to say in the morning :-)

Day 188 - Great way to wrap up the work week

I started out the day a little rough as I picked up some breakfast at a restaurant. However, from there the day was great. I even got an hour of exercise in tonight as it was my first ice time of the year.

Day 184 - More trouble

Still not a very good day today. Lots of leftovers and sweets today. I seem to have lost my motivation... I really have to figure out how to get it back because at this rate, I'll be back up to 300+ by Christmas :-(

Week 27 weigh in

Well, I guess I should have expected a bad weigh in after the weekend I had, but I was hoping it wouldn't be this bad. The scale read 261.2 this morning. That's a 3.4 pound gain. My goodness I put on weight fast. Just a few days of bad eating and I gain back anything I had lost throughout the week, plus another almost 4 pounds. Guess that just tells me that I have to stay on top of my eating... indefinitely. Here's hoping for a better week this week.

Day 182 & 183 - Off my diet... temporarily

Saturday and Sunday were not very good. I kind of threw my diet out this weekend. I figured if I'm going to have a splurge weekend, what better time to do it than Thanksgiving. And boy did I splurge. I reverted back to my old ways a little bit and it didn't feel too good. I guess I'm not used to eating like that anymore because it make me feel a little sick, not to mention the guilt that comes along with it. I'm going to try and get right back on track on Monday... although the house is filled with leftovers, so it's probably going to be a rough start to the week.

Day 181 - Rough night tonight

Day 178 & 179 - Faltering a bit lately

I got some bad news yesterday and I spiraled out of control a bit last night. I pretty much threw caution to the wind and jumped on the snacking train. Of course I felt guilty afterward as it didn't change anything, but I guess I'm still going to have to struggle with the fact that I will tend to head to food when stress becomes too much. I suppose being aware of that fact should help me control it as best I can. I did have a decent day today. I did have a dessert tonight at dinner, but there was no snacking and the rest of my meals were good... so I call that a good day. Nice to be back on track :-)

Week 26 weigh in

Last week was a week of ups and downs, however, I finished the week with a decent weekend. So it all added up to a loss of 3 pounds. When I got on the scale this morning, it read 257.8. I was happy to see that, as my weight is going in the right direction again. Fingers crossed I can keep it up moving forward.

Days 175 & 176 - Good weekend

It was a busy weekend with a few sick kids, but I was able to do pretty well health wise. I had some really good meals, kept the portions under control and didn't really have any snacking to speak of. All in all, I'd have to say it was as good a weekend as could be expected.
