Day 29 - Too much at dinner, but great workout

Well, dinner tonight was the first slip-up this week. I BBQed some burgers and ended up eating two of them. There were quite big, so I was stuffed afterwards and wished I had only eaten one. Portion control is something I've been trying to work on and tonight I didn't do a great job. Fortunately, with the exception of dinner, my food throughout the day was good.

I did have a great workout tonight. I think I may have pushed myself a little bit as a punishment for my dinner. I walked/joggged 2 miles tonight with 9 minutes of jogging. My calorie burn was over 400 calories. Great workout... by far my best yet since I got back on the treadmill 29 days ago.

Here's how today broke down:

Breakfast:
- Bowl of cereal
- Fruit cup
- Orange juice
- Coffee

Lunch:
- Smart ones frozen pizza
- Tangerine
- Yogurt cup
- Special-K bar
- Water

Afternoon snack:
- Apple
- Yogurt cup

Supper:
- BBQed Hamburger with cheese (X2)
- Ceasar salad
- Diet coke

Evening Snack:
- Coffee
- Water
- 1 hard candy

Workout:
- 2 mile walk/jog (9 minutes of jogging and 400+ calorie burn)

  1. I still really struggle with portion control. I sometimes lose sight of what I am trying to do here and let loose. When I do, great quantities of food get eaten. Like you, I know what I have done afterward, but the damage is already done.

  2. I'm with Steve- portion control is tough. I like a BIG plate of food in front of me- still so I try to make it appear larger. Put my meal on a smaller plate and add LOTS of fresh veggies to it. If I am having a burger load the pate up with salad or I like raw veggies too. :) Anything to help right?

Great job on the exercise!! :)

  3. Portion control is difficult. Sometimes the small plate helps; sometimes it doesn't. I know waiting the 15 minutes always helps when I remember to do it.

A battle we'll keep fighting until we figure out how to win it every time.
